The Story
When our client first began his search, his budget was between £450,000 and £500,000. He was always aware that this would increase later in the year, once his salary had increased and his bonus had been paid. He was therefore keen to explore what he could buy straight away vs what he could buy if he waited. We gave him that understanding by taking him on curated property tours and breaking the search down by area, size, style and condition. Deciding to wait and buy with a bigger budget, our client wanted to try to emulate the flat he was renting in Maida Vale. After seeing that his budget wouldn’t stretch to that, we decided to approach his landlord directly to see if we could secure a purchase privately, and within budget. We did! Not having an estate agent involved meant the seller didn’t have to pay any agency fee, and we were able to negotiate harder for our client.
