The Property
A duplex flat with unusually large south-facing garden – close to Mile End Underground station, the amenities of Roman Road and the green open space of Victoria Park. The flat was in good enough condition that the clients could move straight in, but there was huge potential to add value over time.
The Brief
Three-bedroom, ex-local authority flat
Potential to add value
Garden or large terrace
East London
The Story
Through tough, sustained negotiation, we managed to secure a price of £465,000 (despite the asking price being ‘offers in excess of £500,000’), which equates to only £534 per square foot. A very similar flat in good condition sold two months prior for £537,000 (£617 per square foot). Having initially secured a good price of £485,000, we then managed to negotiate a further reduction of £20,000 after survey.
What the client said
"When we first started our search we had different ideas and expectations. Jamie helped us to align our goals and found us an amazing property that we all fell in love with. At every stage we felt that he had our best interests at heart and was always on hand to offer advice. We wouldn't hesitate to work with Jamie again in the future."
