The Story
Having spent a lot of their lives overseas, our clients were unsure about what they could get for their money in London. Initially, their main focus was on being as close to central London as possible and they didn’t mind whether they bought a flat or a house. Straight away, they fell in love with a Georgian flat in Oval. Its location was fantastic but, after much deliberation, we all agreed it didn’t offer the space they needed for a family home. Our focus was then on introducing them to well-priced areas with houses that would give the space they needed, as close to central London as possible. Very quickly we found a beautiful family house in New Cross with an excellent side-return extension. While the house had a lot of interest because of a sizeable price reduction, we were able to secure it for our clients before second viewings took place. During the conveyancing process, and following the building survey, we even managed to renegotiate the price down by £10,000.
What the client said
“As a first-time mum, I was anxious about how we would look for our first home, during a pandemic, in a different city, with a 5-month old baby in tow. Lewis made this all so easy. He made the search very pleasurable and, while I was delighted to find a dream home so soon, I was sorry that the searching had come to an end as I enjoyed the process so much. Neither of us thought we would ever find something so lovely, and that fits the brief so well, in our budget. Lewis’ negotiation skills even helped knock a bit of money off the asking price - he effectively paid for himself!”
