The Story
Our client had a clear idea of what they wanted, but as a first-time buyer in a busy market, they were overwhelmed by the buying process. Good properties were selling fast and our client felt that estate agents were inflating the prices by encouraging ‘best and final bids’. We ended up offering on the first property we found and, like every good property that was being sold, we had to bid against other buyers. But thanks to our relationship with the selling agent we were able to present our client as the best possible candidate and secure the sale, despite offering the same figure as another buyer. This working relationship held us in good stead throughout the buying process as issues came up, including a renegotiation on the price after a building survey.
